Celebrating Aboriginal, Foundational, and Indigenous Black People This Month

Today marks the beginning of Black History Month, an opportunity to cherish and celebrate the accomplishments and existence of Aboriginal, Foundational Black Americans, and Black Indigenous people worldwide.

While we've become accustomed to learning about activists, politicians, inventors, and freedom fighters who sojourned to make the world a more just, peaceful, and equitable place, my team and I also make space to honor and respect the healers, griots, and less widely known and accepted people who transformed the way that people understand the human body, its relation to the cosmos, and how we exist together.

When I decided on my career path, it was not in the healing or skin care industry. Instead, I started as a freelance fashion, beauty, and lifestyle writer whose work looked at the creations that kept us happy, clothed, and personalized according to our liking.

In my studies and the practical application of my theoretical learnings, I explored the world and its diverse inhabitants and began to uncover the symbiotic relationship with the planet on which we dwell, and how much wear and tear our global consumption patterns had on its ecosystems.

I became interested in sustainability because I respect and cherish the plentiful yields that the Earth provides. "Only take what you need." rings through my ears as I became more conscious of what I was using and for what reason.

Looking back, I now see how my journey into folk herbalism enhances my creative skills, honors what is, and continues the legacy of the many of the Aboriginal, Foundational Black Americans, and Black Indigenous people worldwide who lived and worked in reverent unity with nature in whatever environment they existed. Today, I am proud to be a constant student mastering my place in the world and creating healthy and marvelous products which many can enjoy.

By starting Luxuree Skincare & Bath, I did so as a proud Afro-Caribbean and Foundational Black American woman whose vision for supporting people in achieving healthy skin is rooted in heritage, healing, and harmony is rooted in love.

So thank you for supporting this company, and join us today and every day this month by accepting the most outstanding achievements of Black people worldwide that have made and continue to make the world a better place for everyone.
