An Ode to Natural Beauties

An Ode to Natural Beauties

My childhood was a magical one. And like many other girls, I played for hours on end with Barbie dolls in their dream house and hot pink car. I wouldn't be surprised if that is why I still love that color.

Another of my favorite pastimes was pouring through the pages of Harper's Bazaar, Elle, Vogue, Essence, Ebony, and Jet magazines throughout my youth. When I grew up, one of my uncles asked me what I wanted to be, and I proudly exclaimed, "Jet Beauty of The Week."

I couldn't know it then, but the younger me was actively manifesting a life of beautiful people, places, things, and experiences for me to revel in.

Fast forward a few decades later, and I can't help but think back to the younger Nicole; walking across Towson University's campus in sweatpants, preparing for presentations, working on magazine layouts, learning how to pitch the media, and organizing focus groups to inner-stand how advertising and brand messaging impacted the psyche and self-esteem of college-aged women. By the time I got to Parsons, I knew the power of communications and design; I just wanted to make sure that people were able to tell the truth from inspiration and aspiration. Through my rigorous journey at Parsons, I learned that it takes a lot of work to keep up beautiful; but it is healthy to have a standard that you are able to create and maintain.

Honestly, I haven't always felt beautiful, or even enough as I am, in my skin. It was uncommon for me to see dark-skin women depicted dignifiedly in movies, music videos, TV shows, or magazines, except a few.

For that reason, when I chose my career field, I knew I'd want to make sure that women of all walks of life felt represented, seen, and acknowledged and that brands understood them for them, not a doctored image even the rarest supermodels can maintain.

I value my walk through life and the ebbs and flows I've undergone to become the person I am today. So when it came time to be more front and center with Luxuree Skincare & Bath, I knew I'd still want to carry the same ethos I've held for my entire life. Yes, celebrate what is, in all of its range of brilliance, but be sure to give a toast to the natural beauties. The ones who feel enough as they are, who are confident enough to upload their bare faces on TikTok videos for the world to see (and possibly judge) and do so magnificently!

It's easy to overlook the long-term impacts of how our collective striving for perfection erodes the protective barriers of self-love. Luckily, with Luxuree Skincare & Bath, you don't have to worry about that.

Our products are beautiful tools for healthy and happy skin. Still, more importantly, we care about our customers as people living and working every day who deserve excellent quality products without worrying about their origin and contents.

Now, I use Luxuree Skincare & Bath products every day of my life. It makes me so happy as a founder and CEO that I am naturally beautiful and that our company honors what's naturally beautiful inside each of you. Please don't be shy; try our products and allow yourself to come home to yourself with each bath, shower, or even hand wash.
